How To Deepen Your Waves
So let’s start with the tools you’ll need to achieve deeper waves: First, you’ll need a rat tail comb (you can find this at your local beauty supply store for a buck or so), a hard brush, and a medium brush (any medium brush is fine as long as you like it) and last but not least, a product that will ensure plenty of moisture for your hair. One suggestion is Wavebuilder’s Cocoa and Shea Wave Butter because it gives the maximum moisture to the hair.
Now you have the products but it doesn’t end there. The key is to make sure to wolf (growing your hair 6-8 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows, and getting trims every 1 ½ to 2 weeks). If you’re in your early stages of the wolfing process, you should be brushing all the time. As your hair gets thicker, you will need to gradually switch to a harder brush.
A lot of people don’t understand the importance of combing the hair. This is actually a KEY step most wavers forget to do and/or completely leave out. When wolfing, comb with your rat tail comb for 5 minutes in the morning, at night, and do this in the shower as well. Just comb exactly how you would brush your hair. Also, make sure you’re using a good shampoo!
There you have it wavers! For this to really work, you have to stay dedicated without skipping any of the steps described above.
